Greetings After Speaking at the United Nations!

I have felt drawn to the United Nations since at least 2008. This past Wednesday, the Lord allowed me to speak at one of the United Nations buildings to a lovely group of Christians who work there! All Glory to God!

I pray you’re blessed by the short video above!

Speaking to the nations about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was a true honor and privilege! A few precious people asked me for prayer afterwards and shared that God had spoken to them through my message. I’m so honored and humbled when anyone says that. God is so Good!

Waiting on God is not in vain. God is moving and I’m excited! Here’s a snapshot of that milestone day for me.

Thanks for being on this faith journey with me! I’m looking forward to what’s ahead in this new season!

Please note that next week I plan to share some thoughts about my Senior Pastor of more than a decade who passed away that same day. I will miss Pastor Johansson dearly, but I am rejoicing that he is now in Heaven with Jesus!

5 Bible Verses to Boost Your Faith!

5-bible-verses-to-boost-your-faith-2

As Christians, we’re called to walk by faith and not by sight. God loves it when His children trust Him!

In Hebrews 11:6 we read, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

But walking by faith isn’t always easy. If you find yourself struggling with your faith today, I pray the following verses will encourage you. I hope you will pray over, mediate, and memorize these verses and find more in the Bible:

  1. “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)
  2. “‘If you can’?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.'” (Mark 9:23)
  3. Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40)
  4. “And ‘But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.’ But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” (Hebrews 10:38-39).
  5. “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

For more Bible verses that will stir up your faith and to read about some of the men and women in the Old and New Testament who walked out their faith, check out my devotional Abounding Faith: 30 Bible Heroes Who Will Inspire You to Believe God for the Impossible! (Available on Amazon)

5 Journal Writing Prompts

Copy of 5 Tips for Christian Speakers

More and more people are telling me that they enjoy writing and would like to one day write a book. What a beautiful dream to have! I’m excited to announce that I’ve just launched a Book Writing Coaching program, which you can learn more about by clicking here.

I like to encourage folks to begin their writing journey by keeping a journal. Journaling helps you to record your life story and to save precious memories. Writing down your thoughts and reflections also help you to meditate and remember all that the Lord is speaking to your heart through His Word.

Not sure what to write in your journal?

Here are 5 Journal Writing Prompts to inspire you to write away:

  • The best thing about today was ….
  • One thing I learned today was …
  • The best way to describe today is …
  • Today I’m feeling like this person from the Bible …
  • Today this Bible verse is speaking to me ….

Need more ideas? You can get a free copy of my “12 Journal Writing Prompts” PDF when you sign up to get my weekly encouraging blog posts emailed to you. This blog is like my online journal in many ways.

I also have stacks and stacks of journals at home. If you’re like me and you never have enough blank notebooks to jot down your thoughts or if you have avid writers in your life, I invite you to take a look at Abounding Faith’s online store to find journals like the ones below (many of the covers feature pics I’ve taken during my travels):

Abounding Faith on TV

I recently had the pleasure of being invited by Pastor Luis Ortiz of Ebenezer Productions to talk about my books Waiting on God Well and Abounding Faith on his TV show. The interview aired live in Brooklyn and on Facebook Live. The above video is the Facebook Live version. I pray that what I shared in the video blesses you! I plan to share the fancier version of the video as soon as it’s ready.

Here’s a pic of me in the studio after the video was shot.

CROPPED13631649_631584010338322_7176960447432887645_n

As a writer, I’m more comfortable being behind-the-scenes but the Lord gives me the grace and courage to speak about Him in different settings including on live TV. All Glory to God!

I plan to keep speaking and writing as long as the Lord keeps giving me something to say!

If this video encourages you, please leave a comment here or on the video. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Blessings to you as you Wait on God Well and live by Abounding Faith!

Reflections on Speaking Up

microphone-1261793_960_720

The Lord continues to open doors for me to speak about Him, and I am excited! This is part of what I’ve been Waiting on God Well for during these last couple of years.

I didn’t know how, or when, or really even what I wanted to say. I just knew that God was calling me to write and speak for His glory.

A few weeks ago, the Lord allowed me to once again run the service at Central Delaware Trinity Covenant in Upstate, NY. What an honor! It was great to visit my college friend and the folks at her church. It’s a blessing to get to do even simple things like choosing the bulletin for that Sunday’s service. It’s a privilege to get to lead the service, bring the sermon, and fellowship with the congregation afterward.

13418891_612129078950482_8379208911097803994_n

The following Saturday, the Lord allowed me to visit my friends at Woodcrest, the nursing home where my friend, Chaplain Jamary, runs a beautiful Bible study and service. My friends at Woodcrest were the first small group to study Waiting on God Well. They are the first small group to be reading Abounding Faith. It was a bit surreal to join them as they studied my book! I was encouraged to hear their thoughts about that week’s Bible character, Paul. It was also a blessing to get to worship with them and speak to them during the service time.

I’ve also gotten to speak to Connect Group leaders from Every Nation NYC and got to run the Prayer Breakfast that my friends at Queens NY AGLOW held yesterday where Elder Barbara Chisholm of Perfecting Faith Church was the guest speaker.

I don’t take all of this lightly. Speaking about God and to His people is an honor! Now I’m starting to see why He’s been taking so much time and care preparing me for this season of my journey. I certainly didn’t get here overnight. And I still have a long way to go and lots to learn, but I’m delighted that the Lord would allow me to be His ambassador and witness through the written and spoken word.

I’ll be sure to share lessons I’m learning along the way. For now, I’d like to thank you again for being on this journey with me! God is moving! I’d like to remind you that God loves you more than you know! He loves you more than you can even imagine!

God wants to speak to you through His Word, the Bible. The Bible is God’s love letter to you and your instruction manual:

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

I hope you are taking time to soak in God’s presence. That’s where He’ll reveal His plans for you and give you the grace to make it through your day, week, and life!

I look forward to sharing more with you about my speaking journey!

If you’re having an event or gathering and would like me to come speak to your group, I’d be delighted to learn more about it! Please visit my speaking page for more information.

Blessings to you as you take steps forward in your faith journey!

Thanks Readers and Online Community!

Reader Books Collage 6-16-16

I’d like to take a moment this week and thank my readers and online community! Thank you for taking this journey with me! I appreciate your support and encouragement!

Your “likes,” comments, shares, and feedback encourage me to continue writing and speaking. Private me would probably keep most of my thoughts hidden in my journal instead of sharing it with the public. I’m delighted to hear that you are being blessed!

There are a few groups of people I’d like to acknowledge:

Thank you to those of you who are faithfully reading my blog and to the more than 400 of you who have clicked “like” here! I pray you are being encouraged and will tell your friends about my blog.

Thank you to those of you who are buying my books and sharing them with others! I love hearing how you are being blessed! I pray you are being inspired to Wait on God Well and to walk in Abounding Faith! Please take a moment to write a review on Amazon to help encourage others to read the books. If you have pics with your copies of my books, please send them my way!

Thank you to those of you who are connecting with me on social media! I just crossed 1,000 followers on Twitter! Praise God!  You can find me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and Periscope! Thank you for the likes, retweets, shares, and hearts!

A special thank you to those of you who are attending my events and inviting me to come speak at your events and gatherings! I’m excited about this door that the Lord has opened!

Whether you are reading my words, hearing me speak at events, chatting with me during life coaching calls, or shopping at Abounding Faith’s online store, I pray that you are encouraged!

God is moving! There is more to come. Please feel free to invite your friends to join this journey and be inspired.

If my words are inspiring you and encouraging you on your faith journey, praise God! I’d love to know! Are you drawing closer to God? Are you growing in your faith? How is God moving in your life in this season?

Wherever you are in your faith journey, I pray that you will live for the audience of The One and not the applause of man. Purpose in your heart to obey God and to follow His leading and His timing, and He will amaze you by how He shows up and shows off in your life! Glory! “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

I’d like to leave you with this priestly blessing found in the Bible:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you

and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you

and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
