I hope you’ll join me for the NEW Crossing Your River Jordan online course. I’m so delighted to be teaching at the New York School of the Bible (NYSB) for the third straight summer. I’m thrilled to be teaching this new class based on the story of Joshua and my book Crossing Your Jordan River: How to Possess and Prosper in Your Promised Land. Reflections on Teaching the Abounding Faith Class During Such a Time as This and an Announcement

What a delight and honor it’s been to teach the Abounding Faith: Choosing Faith Over Fear online class during this historic and unprecedented time in our nation and world!

We prayed for the students who would sign up for the class. God assembled a lovely group of people in New York, North Carolina and even Taiwan. The class included Sunday school teachers, an outreach leader and a deacon. God is Good!

What an honor to get to teach my second class at the New York School of the Bible! And what a blessing to get to teach a class based on one of my books! The Abounding Faith devotional is dear to my heart. I’m grateful I get to encourage, empower and inspire people in their faith in God.

As the pandemic, protests and other drama was raging, our class faithfully met online and dug into God’s Word and found the hope, inspiration, instruction and fellowship that was so needed at this time.

Blessed Start to the Abounding Faith: Choosing Faith Over Fear Online Class

“I am so excited to join class, and thanks for your instruction to the class.”  – Abounding Faith Online Class NYSB Student

My classroom may look different from the one I used last June (pictured above), but what joy it is to teach the Abounding Faith: Choosing Faith Over Fear online class through the New York School of the Bible during this unique time in history!

We had a blessed start to the empowering class last Monday, as you can tell by the two students quoted above.

I’m thrilled that we had a student in Taiwan join us. She’s my first truly international student and most likely my first reader in Taiwan. God is Good! We also had a student in North Carolina join us.

Within the first half of the class, one student shared that her faith was already being strengthened. Praise God!

A few students burst out in song after the closing prayer. Beautiful!

Amid the fear and unrest and waves of other emotions sparked by the ongoing pandemic and recent protests, it’s an incredible time to be encouraging students in their faith in God!

These are such trying and turbulent times we’re living in, but God is in Control and He is Greater than anything we will ever face.

I’m so grateful that in these dark days, this class is a ray of sunshine.

Thank You to all who are praying. It’s such an honor to help empower people in their faith! Please continue to pray that God will continue to use me to reach students near and far and that He would continue to meet us in special ways.

Amazingly, my class roster continues to grow.

Abounding Faith: Choosing Faith Over Fear Online Class Starts Next Monday (June 1st)

What a lovely note I got just the other day from a student (quoted above) who took the Abounding Faith class at the New York School of the Bible (NYSB) last June. It’s almost a year later and she still has fond memories of the class.

Teaching the Abounding Faith Online Class at the NYSB in June

I’m thrilled to announce that I will once again be teaching a summer class at the New York School of the Bible (NYSB). The Abounding Faith: Choosing Faith Over Fear class will be an online course taught on the following Monday nights: June, 1, 8, 15 and 22.

Ladies and Gents, I hope you will join me for this timely class that will help fuel your faith. You can take the Abounding Faith class from the comfort of your own home, no matter what state you’re in.

Join me for this powerful time of fortifying our faith by delving into God’s Word and discussing God’s awesome track record for coming through for His people.

Here is the course description:

As Christians, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight.  Many times that is easier said than done, especially during this trying time we are facing.  In this class, we will look at the lives of various Heroes of Faith from the Bible and examine how their faith in God was tested and thus learn how God came through for them in their greatest time of need.  The insights we glean from their experiences will help to equip and empower you to trust God’s faithfulness no matter what challenges or obstacles you may face.  This course is designed to fuel your faith for without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Reflections on a Few Summer Surprises

The Lord saw it fit to surprise me this summer in a few ways including these opportunities (pictured above) to teach and speak.
 
I’m grateful for every opportunity I get to encourage and inspire groups as they walk by faith and live their God-given dreams!
 
It was a blessing to teach a summer class at the New York School of the Bible in June based on one of my books and then to teach a Life Skills class at The Bowery Mission’s Women’s Center in July based on another one of my books. It was also a delight to share testimonies at a local church and lead Chapel at The Bowery Mission’s Tribeca site.

 

God is so Good!

 

None of these speaking and teaching opportunities were on my calendar at the beginning of the year, but God already had them planned.

 

We just need to be available and willing. God knows what’s on the other side of our Yes!

 

I’m looking forward to continuing to share messages of hope with more groups.

Reflections on Teaching the Abounding Faith Class at a Local Bible School

“Taking this course changed my life.” – Student, Abounding Faith: Believing God for the Impossible class

I’m still in awe of the beautiful feedback I got from the lovely ladies in my Abounding Faith: Believing God for the Impossible summer class at the New York School of the Bible (NYSB).

What a blessing it was to teach a class based on one of my books at the same Bible school I attended a few years ago!

It was a joy and honor to encourage my students to BELIEVE!

I’m overwhelmed by their feedback.

The same student quoted above said reading the Abounding Faith: 30 Bible Heroes Who Will Inspire You to Believe God for the Impossible devotional helped to awaken barren places in her life and helped her be content in other areas of her life.

Another student is hoping there will be an Abounding Faith Part 2 class.

To my delight, I kept gaining students as the weeks went on instead of losing students during the beautiful summer Saturdays in NYC.

I was stunned when one lady showed up during the last class and announced, “I’m prepared to fail this class because I haven’t been able to make it the other weeks, but I had to come to meet you. You were so vibrant on the phone.”

I’m speechless. The Lord loves to surprise me!

The women were sweet, smart and studious. We had lively and heartfelt discussions about the Bible heroes we covered in class and about what God was stirring in our hearts.

One student said that as she was reading the Abounding Faith book, she felt the Lord calling her to pursue her bachelor’s degree and get better prepared for her future ministry work. Amazing!

Others shared how they were encouraged by the Bible heroes they read about and were challenged  by the reflection questions in the Abounding Faith devotional.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from teaching a summer class on Saturday mornings in June. I didn’t know who would show up and how it would go, but God provided the students and met us in class each week.

I’ve been at podiums and pulpits at churches and chapel services lately.  I’m grateful that God saw it fit for me to reenter the classroom setting.

Back when I was a student in this very same room, I never dreamed that one day I’d return as a member of the faculty. I’m honored that the NYSB gave me this opportunity to teach a class based on one of my books.

I’m also honored to have gotten to inspire my faithful students.

Only God knows what’s next…. thank you for your prayers and encouragement!

Abounding Faith Class in Full Swing at the New York School of the Bible

What an honor it was to teach my very first Abounding Faith: Believing God for the Impossible class at the New York School of the Bible (NYSB)!

There was a sweet spirit among the lovely ladies who attended the first class this past Saturday.

I think my late Senior Pastor would be proud to know that I’m teaching at the same Bible school he suggested I attend a few years ago.

What a joy to get to encourage others in their faith by sharing some of the lessons I learned while writing my second book Abounding Faith: 30 Bible Heroes Who Will Inspire You to Believe God for the Impossible! (Available on Amazon).

Almost Time to Teach My Summer Class at the New School of The Bible

How surreal it was to return to the New York School of the Bible (NYSB) the other day and to be welcomed back as a member of their faculty. God is Good!
 
Back when I was a student there and even when I was writing Abounding Faith, I never thought I’d be teaching a class based on one of my books. I delight in God’s surprises!
