Reflecting on Past July Missions Trips

Three of the 5 short-term missions trips I’ve been on took place in the month of July. My missions trips have taken me to the Amazon Jungle in Brazil, the Andes Mountains in Ecuador (left pic) and the streets of Ethiopia, Honduras (right pic) and Peru (bottom pic). Missions trips weren’t on my radar when I was growing up, but when God calls, it’s best to listen. He knows what’s on the other side of our YES!

I share many miraculous and lovely testimonies from these trips and more in my book, By Faith: Adventures and Reflections on Walking With God Here and Abroad. “I must say I am an accidental short-term missionary. At least in my eyes. I never grew up wanting to go on missions trips. I certainly didn’t know any missionaries. Over the years, I did discover that I enjoyed traveling. My goal years ago was to travel to the cities that hosted a certain major sporting event. And God allowed me to go to stadiums in Athens, Greece, Sydney, Australia, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Los Angeles, California. Not bad! I am so grateful for all the wonderful places I’ve gotten to travel to over the years.

But God had different plans for me. After years of traveling for vacation and for work and after my amazing time in Israel, I knew it was time to give back.

All this talk about traveling can sound kind of glamorous to some, but it’s not always easy to get on a plane, leave all your loved ones behind, and go to some foreign country. There are shots to take beforehand (and sometimes gigantic malaria pills to swallow during the trip!), money to raise, vacation time to be used. There’s also lots of prayer and fasting to get ready for the spiritual battles that will take place.

Surprisingly enough, sometimes the toughest battles are fought long before even setting foot on the plane!”

Happy 5 Anniversary to Waiting on God Well Book

It’s the 5th Anniversary of my very first book Waiting on God Well 🎉

I’m grateful to all my wonderful Readers! I love hearing how this book has blessed ministry leaders and men and women waiting for breakthrough in their personal and professional lives. Waiting on God Well has encouraged those waiting to find a new job, waiting to meet their spouse, waiting for healing and waiting to launch their ministry, etc.

It’s an honor and privilege to get to inspire my Readers.

Book 5 Update!

I’m delighted to report that Book 5 is with my early readers. I’m already getting some wonderful feedback about it.

I’m hearing it’s inspiring, challenging, faith activating and hitting home. Praise God!

I look forward to sharing more updates with you once I’m further along in the process.

In the meantime, I hope you’ve had a chance to read Books 1 – 4. They’re featured in the new super short video above.

1st Anniversary of By Faith Book

What a year it’s been since the release of my fourth book By Faith: Adventures and Reflections on Walking With God Here and Abroad!

What’s Your Story?

After I felt the Lord ask me to lay down my journalism career, my writing went into hiding for y-e-a-r-s. But for some reason, I couldn’t shake the feeling that one day God would ask me to pick up my pen and write for His glory.

I’m in awe as I look at Books 1 – 4 displayed with my flyer for Abounding Faith’s third Women’s Conference. This pic was taken in my classroom where I’m teaching Abounding Faith: Believing God for the Impossible, a summer class for women at the New York School of the Bible based on my book Abounding Faith: 30 Bible Heroes Who Will Inspire You to Believe God for the Impossible!.

I’m so touched that the Abounding Faith devotional is inspiring my students  here in NYC, Crossing Your Jordan River is encouraging a reader who just opened a transitional home for women in Chattanooga, TN, By Faith has been endorsed by the President of Nyack College and others and Waiting on God Well continues to inspire people years after its release.

All of this helps to encourage me as I work on Book 5!  God is Good!

What a privilege it is to write uplifting books that encourage readers as they walk by faith and live their God-given dreams! It’s a joy and honor to write faith-filled books that help to bring hope to hurting hearts and that inspire Pastors, Pastors’ wives, ministry leaders and new believers.

NEWS – Teaching Summer Class at The New York School of the Bible!

 

I’m so honored and humbled to share that I will be teaching a class for women this June at the New York School of the Bible (NYSB). The class will be based on my second book, Abounding Faith: 30 Bible Heroes Who Will Inspire You to Believe God for the Impossible!

Celebrating the Trio – Abounding Faith’s First 3 Books

I’m celebrating the Trio because Waiting on God Well, Abounding Faith and Crossing Your Jordan River were all released in March/April. God is Good!

I love looking back and reflecting on my launch events and seeing all those smiling faces! Each book has been a milestone for me. And I’m so grateful that God has allowed me to inspire others through through writing and speaking.

I’m still so touched to hear from readers who have been encouraged by the Trio. The Trio has encouraged Pastors, Pastors’ wives, chaplains, missionaries, ministry leaders and new believers.
